Hello Red Bank Families,
As the principal of Red Bank Elementary School, I would like to say how honored I am to be part of this extraordinary learning community.
For those families who may not know me yet, my name is Alonzo Somerville, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Red Bank Elementary School. While I am new to this building, I have spent many years in education and have always believed that the most important part of our work is making sure every child feels seen, supported, and excited to come to school each day.
One of the things I believe strongly is that elementary school is where we build the foundation. We build the foundation for all of the academic skills our students will need as they continue their educational journey. But we also build so much more.
We teach children how to be organized, how to solve problems, how to work with others, how to show empathy and kindness, how to persevere when something is difficult, and how to believe in themselves.
I also want you to know that we cannot do this work without the support of our families. Your partnership and support make an incredible difference in the success of your children. If you have questions about your child's academic progress, classroom procedures please reach out to the classroom teacher. They are always willing to assist.
This year, I want us to continue building a culture centered around our district motto, Pride, Passion, and Commitment to Excellence. I want our students to take pride in who they are, have a passion for learning, and understand that excellence isn't about being perfect—it's about giving your best effort and continuing to grow.
I am incredibly excited about the year ahead. We have an amazing group of students, a dedicated staff, and wonderful families, and I truly believe there is something special happening here at Red Bank Elementary.
Sincerely,
Alonzo Somerville
