A Letter from the Principal
Dear RB Families and Friends,
As the principal of Red Bank Elementary School, I would like to say how honored I am to be part of this extraordinary learning community. Prior to my move, I was a teacher at WDMS. Throughout my many years of experience in WD, I have worn many “hats.” I spent many summers working with our youngsters in the ESY program or with the township in the Summer Rec program. In addition to my experience working with elementary and middle school aged children, I also taught Social Studies in the evening school program at WD high school. I coached many sports over the past years (softball, basketball, field hockey, and track and field) and acted as class advisor. I am committed to all the students in West Deptford and have enjoyed every minute of my time working with each of them. They taught me many valuable lessons that I use every day to improve my craft.
The Red Bank students taught me so much over the past years. The most important lesson I learned from our youngest learners is that you can NEVER have a bad day as an elementary school principal. Their energy and enthusiasm for life is contagious. They come to school everyday with their "never-ending" smiles and help put our busy adult lives into perspective. I learned just how much a child grows and the positive impact our teachers and staff make on them. I learned that the best medicine was sometimes as simple as a sense of humor. Telling a joke at the end of the lunch periods or during morning announcements has become one of their favorite parts of the day.
I want to share my vision of building a learning environment where teachers, administrators, parents, students, and the community work together to provide our children with the skills they need to become valuable citizens of the 21st century. I am so proud to work with the excellent Red Bank teachers and staff. Their passion and enthusiasm for education will provide a positive school community where everyone experiences success! I believe in teamwork and hard work, and I am completely confident that together we will make Red Bank Elementary School the positive first step in your child’s academic journey.
Sincerely,
Ms. Jill Scheetz
